Administrative Law Student's ForumThe Administrative Law Students’ Forum is an initiative that began at the University of Adelaide in 2002, taken from a concept first developed at the University of Tasmania in 2001. The Forum offers a unique opportunity for students to present their research papers in a public setting, and before an audience consisting of fellow students, academics, lawyers, parliamentarians and others from the wider community. The Forum is organised by a committee of students drawn from the Administrative Law class, which is then organised into 3 sub-committees (sponsorship, catering and programs). The Forum has been well supported by local sponsors and the Australian Institute of Administrative Law. The Forum is organised along similar lines to a small professional conference, and the Student Organising Committee is responsible for the event. Participation as speakers will be limited to the best Research Assignments completed in 2007. Selection is not simply based on academic excellence, but on originality of the topic and analysis. Students present their research papers in panels of up to 4-5 students, and are allocated around 15 minutes for each presentation. The whole event lasts approximately 3 hours, including breaks. |
