The Honours Degree of Bachelor of Laws (Honours Dissertation)

The award abbreviation Hons. LLB is used by candidates awarded the Honours Degree of Bachelor of Laws.

The Honours degree of Bachelor of Laws is available in the first, second (IIA and IIB) and third class.
Honours candidates must undertake the Honours Dissertation for which a quota applies. This quota varies from year-to-year according to the availability of supervisors but in recent years has usually been 25.

A student who wishes to obtain an Honours degree of Bachelor of Laws must complete the courses LAW 3089 Honours Research and Writing (2 units) and LAW 3099 Dissertation Honours Law (6 units). These courses are normally undertaken in the second semester of the penultimate year and the first semester of the final year of the LL.B. program respectively. They are taken in lieu of other elective courses with an equivalent units value.
